CHILE, SANTIAGO

A Chilean appeals court this week ordered a suspension of all work on the $1.4 billion USD, 740-megawatt Punta Alcalde hydropower project, due to local fishermen’s concerns that it will cause serious environmental problems that will negatively affect their industry.
