The European Union has announced a new $3.1 million USD funding component to accelerate restoration of Kenya’s largest water tower, the Mau.

The new funding will support a three-year intervention program that addresses rehabilitation of critical watersheds, established payments for ecosystem services and carbon storage programs to boost livelihoods of local communities.
