OOSKAnews the Sole Media Supporter for UN, NYIT Inaugural International Water Conference

July 14, 2008 ⎯ OOSKAnews will act as a media supporter for the first International Water Conference 2008, scheduled to take place at the United Nations headquarters in New York City on July 23rd and 24th.

 

The conference is organized by the New York Institute of Technology’s Center of Water Resources Management in cooperation with the United Nations (Department of Economics and Social Affairs) and the World Bank.

 

The program will address the critical roles of water efficiency and water resource management when it comes to achieving drinking water sustainability, with the goal of identifying practical and affordable technological solutions to more effectively address the evolving challenges associated with achieving drinking water sustainability.

 

The event will include experts in water resource management, representatives from the United Nations and its member nations, water sector practitioners in the field, and other leading organizations that work to address the global drinking water challenge.

 

The conference will include presentations highlighting new technologies and initiatives that are currently under way. Presenters include from ITT Fluid Technology, Siemens Water Technologies, GE Water & Process Technologies, Dow Water Solutions CH2MHill, Aquatech International, the World Bank, UNICEF, and the International Private Water Association. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is to deliver the keynote address.
