Orissa Eyes Groundwater Tax for Industry

India, BHUBANESWAR (OOSKAnews Corre...) — The Orissa state government may impose a tax on groundwater for industrial and commercial users.

The move comes because industries and commercial establishments in and around capital city, Bhubaneswar, and throughout the state have engaged in widespread overextraction of groundwater.
