ADB, Uzbekistan Rehabilitate Water Supply in Jizak Province

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan

Uzbek President Islam Karimov this month approved the feasibility study for a $32.9 million USD project to rehabilitate a water intake facility and pipeline networks in the country’s Jizak province. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is providing $25.9 million in funding for the project through the Asian Development Fund, ADB’s concessional financing instrument for its poorest member countries. Uzbekistan is providing $6.3 million USD of the total budget. The project will rehabilitate 55 kilometers of water supply networks and construct 33 kilometers of new water supply networks in Arnasay and Zafarobod districts, and rebuild the Koytash water intake facility in Gallaorol district...
