Almaty Province Water Infrastructure in Poor Condition Despite $133 Million Investment

ASTANA, Kazakhstan

The Prosecutor’s Office in Kazakhstan’s Almaty Province has found problems with water facilities in 200 inhabited areas in the province, including poor condition, mismanagement and unclear ownership.

This is despite the $133 million USD investment pumped into the province’s water infrastrucure under the national Ak Bulak (Clean Water) and Drinking Water programs.
