Macedonia's Lake Ohrid Levels at Critical Level

— According to latest measurements, Lake Ohrid, which sits on the border between southwestern Macedonia and eastern Albania, has dropped to minimal levels. The lake is 693 meters above sea level. Following the latest evidence of a decrease in the water level of Lake Ohrid, the Ohrid city council has appealed to everyone to take all necessary measures to prevent an ecological catastrophe. City councillors feel that the government should immediately return rights over the lake and the bay to local authorities. The city council have estimated maximum and minimum degrees of fluctuation in Lake Ohrid's levels as a result of climate change...
