producer of garbage among all the
27 member states of the European
Union (EU), and authorities' failure
to enact regulation and sanctions to
protect the environment in the country does nothing to make Romanians
more ecology minded, according
to a report released last week.
Last year, 37 tons of plastic waste
was found in the largest reservation
of wetlands in Europe, the Danube
Delta. The plastic poses a threat
to the United National Educational,
Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)-protected area.
