SOCAR Refinery Reduces Extraction From Caspian

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) reduced water withdrawals from the Caspian Sea at one of its refineries in June, the company said. The SOCAR Environmental Department said Azerneftyag Refinery reduced its technical water withdrawals from the Caspian Sea by 41.5 percent, or 11,000 cubic meters in June 2010, compared to the same period in 2009.
