More Funding for Rural Water Supply in India’s New Budget

NEW DELHI, India

Indian Federal Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has substantially raised the allocation for rural drinking water and sanitation in the 2012-13 budget presented on March 16.

The allocation for rural drinking water increased 27 percent from $2.1 billion USD to $2.7 billion USD.
