The National Water and Sewage Corporation (NWSC) plans to start producing electricity from sewage at the Nakivubo sewage plant. The plants handle 45,000 cubic meters of sewage per day. “We will capture methane gas and convert it to bio-gas to produce electricity, which will run the plant. The excess will be connected to the national grid,” said corporation’s spokesperson Phiona Wall.
