Smelting Plant to be Torn Down After Water Pollution

NANCHANG

A smelting plant operated by Hongyi Smelting Company in eastern Jiangxi province will be torn down after it was found to have contaminated drinking water, making more than 110 people sick, according to local officials. Tap water in the city of Ruichang was found to have excessive levels of copper, chlorine and sodium.
