CAIRO, Egypt

Nile water reached the governorate of South Sinai, in northeastern Egypt, for the first time in its history.

The governorate early this month completed the drinking water pipeline supplying water from the river to the city of Saint Catherine.

The 130-kilometer pipeline was built at a total cost of $35 million USD.
