SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA

The International Federation's Disaster Relief Emergency Fund (DREF) provided some $74,000 USD to help the Costa Rican Red Cross (CRRC) deliver assistance to 5,000 people severely affected by floods in the country. Among the additional emergency response actions financed by the DREF were rehabilitation of family water wells and community talks on hygiene promotion.
