Honduran authorities are investigating claims by residents and non-governmental organizations that mining corporation Goldcorp 's operations have contaminated land and water in the Stria valley. The country's environmental prosecutor is looking into allegations that the San Martin opencast mine discharged highly acidic and metal-rich water in 2008.
