Some 116 million cubic meters of polluted wastewater were discharged into surface water bodies in Kyrgyzstan last year, the country’s National Statistics Committee said last week.

The Omsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office has indicted Viaceslav Dvorakovskij, mayor of the city of Omsk, for allowing the unsanctioned discharge of untreated industrial effluents into the Irtysh and Om rivers.
