Africa Needs to Prioritize Water in Light of Global Financial Crisis

Africa needs to reevaluate its priorities in view of the current global financial crisis, and needs to keep the water sector at the top of the funding agenda, according to African Development Bank (AfDB) Vice President of Operations Mandla Gantsho. Speaking at a press briefing in Istanbul on the sidelines of the ongoing 5th World Water Forum, Gantsho said the global financial crisis will not affect policies but will have an impact on the rate at which development programs are carried out in Africa.
