plans to set up a global Water
Sustainability Center in Qatar to
examine ways of treating and using
water by-products from oil production
and refining operations, as well as
projects relating to industrial and
municipal water sustainability.
The main incentive for establishing
the water research center is the
fact that the oil and gas center is
increasingly forced to come up with
new ways to support more cost-effective ways to treat water used in
the production of hydrocarbons.
At the same time, large volumes of
additional water are being produced
during the exploration and production
phase of a field development...
