Deadline Approached for Marafiq Infrastructure Consultancy Contract

— The Saudi Power & Water Utility for Jubail & Yanbu (Marafiq) has set a deadline of September 6 for expressions of interest from local and international companies for two contracts covering an infrastructure investment program. Marafiq is currently seeking consultants to advise it on an estimated $1.3 billion USD, 20-year utilities master plan to support industrial and residential growth. Part of the growth plans is the construction of a second independent water and power project (IWPP) at Yanbu, a city around 350 kilometers north of Jeddah on the Red Sea. According to initial project specifications, the new Yanbu plant should have a capacity of around 2,000 megawatts, but that capacity could be reached in different phases of expansion...
