Degremont Wins $50 Million USD Cairo East Wastewater Plant Contract

CAIRO, Egypt

— Degremont has won the $50 million USD design, build and operate (DBO) contract for the Gabl El Asfar wastewater treatment plant east of Cairo. The contract includes construction of an extension to the 1.5 million cubic meters per day plant, which is currently serving around 9 million people in and around the Egyptian capital. The targeted capacity expansion of around 300,000 cubic meters per day will serve an additional 1.8 million people, according to Degremont and Egyptian authorities.
