CAIRO, Egypt

— The Mediterranean governorate of Damietta, 200 kilometers north of Cairo, has been experiencing sewage mains bursts for years.

The village of Seif El-Din, one of the biggest villages of Damietta with more than 30,000 residents, is an example of the deteriorating conditions of sanitary sewers in the governorate.
