GE Provides Mega Energy for Water Production in Gulf

- General Electric (GE), one of the largest contractors in the energy and water sector in the Gulf, has won new $1.8 billion USD contracts to upgrade energy and water production in Kuwait and Qatar. The deal includes supplying 32 gas turbines and additional equipment for existing plants in the two countries, upgrading energy production by more than 5 gigawatts, according to GE. It brings the total of the orders and commitments GE Energy has received for Middle East projects since December 2006 to over $3.5 billion USD. The first emergency power, fast-track project will provide 20 turbines for the Sabiya power plant in Kuwait, owned by the Kharafi family...
