- Iraqis fighting for survival amid an insurgency, sectarian death squads, and scarcities of electricity, water and other essentials, now face a new peril: The Mosul Dam across the Tigris River in the north of the country is in danger of collapsing and unleashing 8 billion cubic meters of water from the country's largest reservoir.
