Iraq's Water Minister Urges New Dam Projects

KUWAIT CITY, Iraq, BAGHDAD, KUWAIT

— Iraq urgently needs to build new dams to preserve water levels in the country's main rivers before neighboring Turkey's planned major dam projects decrease available supply.

Minister of Water Resources Abdul Lateef Rashid told members of the Council of Representatives that the Turkish government planned to construct 30 dams.
