The Egyptian governorate of Ismailia, 140 kilometers northeast of Cairo, will build its first solar energy-powered wastewater treatment plant at a cost of $20.2 million USD, according to governorate officials.

"Implementation of the treatment station will be carried out in cooperation with the German government," said Abdel-Geleel al Fakharani, governor of Ismailia.
