Kahramaa Awards Ras Laffan C to KEMA

DOHA, Qatar

— Dutch consultancy KEMA has been awarded the technical advisory contract for the Qatari Ras Laffan C independent water and power plant project (IWPP). According to officials of the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa), KEMA will be the main advisor on the plant. The Ras Laffan C IWPP entails the construction of a 2,600 megawatt, 208,000 cubic meter per day plant, which is to be awarded by the end of 2007. Last month, Kahramaa started to assess the bids submitted for the construction of the state's largest co-generation plant.
