Marubeni Wins $2.8 Billion USD Contract in UAE

- The Marubeni Corporation, Japan's fifth-largest trading house, has won a contract to build and operate the largest power and water-desalination project in the United Arab Emirates, the Tokyo-based company announced. The $2.8 billion USD plant will be built in Fujairah, one of the smallest of the seven states that comprise the UAE, and is expected to start operations in 2010.
