Qatar: $5.75 Billion USD Budgeted in 2007-2008 for Infrastructure

DOHA, Qatar

— Qatar's 2007-2008 budget includes $5.75 billion USD for infrastructure projects including water and sewage projects. The Qatari government's budget puts expected revenues at some $19.9 billion USD, and expenditures at about $18.1 billion USD. Spending on infrastructure projects will be over $300 million USD higher than in 2006-2007, when it was $5.4 billion USD. The budget is based on oil prices of $40 USD per barrel, while in the previous fiscal year estimates were based on a price of $36 USD per barrel. Source: The Peninsula (Qatar)
