UAE: Building Strains Supply in Mideast

— Building projects will put a strain on potable water supplies in Middle Eastern countries, according to a construction industry expert.

Construction projects are projected to use some 112 billion liters of potable water over the next two years, increasing pressure on groundwater reserves and desalination plants, said Jeff Stephenson, vice president and COO of Qatar-based Oryx.
