UAE: New Authority to Protect Abu Dhabi Utilities

— Abu Dhabi is establishing a new legal authority to oversee protection of government-owned facilities, including power and water utilities.

The new authority, which was formed under a law issued by UAE President and Abu Dhabi ruler Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, will be affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Executive Council but will have an independent, legal character.
