Watchdog Group Says Fine for Kafue River Contamination Is Not Enough

The Southern Africa Resource Watch (SARW), an NGO focused on natural resources extraction, says the 21 million kwacha ($4,400 USD) fine imposed by the Zambian courts on Vedanta Resources Pic subsidiary Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) for contaminating the Kafue River is not punitive enough, considering the effects of the pollution.
