Workshop Eyes Wastewater Treatment in Libya

Water purification experts from 12 countries gathered in Tripoli last week to discuss appropriate techniques for wastewater purification in Libya. The two-day workshop was organized by the Libyan General Company of Water and Sanitation and the Libyan Office of Public Projects. Workshop participants aimed to find solutions for management and cleaning of the country's sewage treatment plants. Libya's Popular General Secretary of Basic Infrastructure Services Maatoug Mohamed Maatoug called for maximizing use of all water resources in the country, including wastewater. Maatoug said Libya was ranked fifth on the list of countries that lack good water purification, despite efforts to promote and preserve water resources in the country...
