Zimbabwe: Makonde Completes $1.24 Million USD Rehab Project

— Makonde district has finished a $1.22 million USD project to rehabilitate the water supply in the mining town of Mhangura. The project included rehabilitating a vandalized pipeline that carries water 59 kilometers from the Manyame River to Mhangura treatment plant and installing new pumps. But the Makonde Rural District Council is still working to repair the old water chlorinator or purchase a new one. "We have completed over 90 percent of the work that needs to be done to ensure that the people of Mhangura get water," said council chairman Isaac Charuma.
