Today, the company pumps nearly 360,000 gallons a day from this one well in the town of Evart, and now the state of Michigan approved a new permit that would allow them to nearly double it. The permit cost $200 a year.

Nestle is pumping out 400 gallons of water from the Great Lakes each minute, and the state is only charging $200 per year. Michigan environmental regulators have told a bottled water company to re-evaluate how its proposal to withdraw 210 million gallons of water annually from the state would impact local wetlands, streams and natural springs.
