$29 Million USD From USAID For Liberia Water Projects
Three USAID-funded water projects, valued at US$29 million, were over the weekend dedicated. Implemented under the Capital Improvement Project, three water treatment facilities in the three provincial cities were restored with safe drinking water for the inhabitants. Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation Managing Director Duannah Kamara, classified the water facilities as the biggest USAID-funded projects in West Africa and called on superintendents of the benefiting counties to maintain the facilities to avoid anyone misusing them.

Two Thirds Of African Cities Face Extreme Climate Risk
Rapid population growth and poor infrastructure have put two out of three cities in Africa at “extreme risk” of the threats posed by climate change, according to a new analysis. Study focuses on Bangui in the Central African Republic, Liberia’s capital Monrovia and the Congolese city of Mbuji-Mayi as three most at-risk cities.

$40 Million USD For Supply Projects in Liberia
A USD $40.49 million Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) three-phase water project was recently dedicated by the outgoing Liberian Government in White Plains, Montserrado County. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) experts say the dedication of the LWSC White Plains water facility that will supply 16,000,000 gallons per day is a significant boost to the water challenges of Monrovia and its environs.
