Uganda's Water Sector Requires Five Percent Of Country's Budget

Uganda's water sector needs between 4 and 5 percent of the funding made available in the General State Budget (OGE), according to the Secretary of State for Water, Lucrécio Costa. According to Mr. Costa, the sector currently receives only 2.1 percent of the budget allocated. He noted that countries like Angola lack a budget situation equal to or greater than 4 percent of the budget for water and sanitation, hence the budget falls short of demand.
