BEIJING, China
— China is mulling a plan to levy a new resource tax on mineral water.
The move is part of a wider proposal to overhaul the country’s existing resource tax based on value, rather than on quantity, according to an official from the Ministry of Commerce.
The proposal has been submitted to the State Council, the country’s cabinet, for approval, the official said.
