BEIJING, China

— Parts of northern and northeastern China still face droughts that could affect spring planting.

Some localities got up to 20 millimeters of rainfall over the past four months, 70 percent less than this time last year, according to Li Yunpeng, an official with the meteorological center for ecology and agriculture. Li said the drought could continue until mid-April.
