China: Ministries to Spend $427 Million USD for Conservation

— The Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Water Resources are jointly allocating over $427 million USD for rural irrigation and water conservation projects. The goal is to improve rural infrastructure and support grain production in 24 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, including Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces in northeastern China and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The ministries on Thursday announced another $85.6 million USD for anti-drought operations in rural areas across the country for the spring ploughing season. Source: Xinhua (China)
