Vietnam: Project in Cambodia to Help With Irrigation, Floods

— Two hydropower plant projects in Cambodia will help with irrigation and flood control, in addition to electrical generation. Electricity of Viet Nam i(EVN) is building the two plants using some $600 million USD in investment capital. It formed a new joint stock company EVN Cambodia JSC, to carry out the projects and will establish two subsidiaries in Cambodia to mobilize capital, according to EVN Deputy Director Lam Du Son. EVN and Cambodia's Ministry of Industry and Mine and Energy signed a memorandum of understanding in June that called for a feasibility study of the projects to be completed by 2009...
