Leighton Holdings JV Wins Hong Kong Sewage Tunnel Project

A joint venture of Leighton Holdings has won a $335.3 million USD Hong Kong sewage tunnel contract from the Hong Kong Drainage Services Department. The contract is for construction of a sewage conveyance system from Aberdeen to Sai Ying Pun on Hong Kong Island, including design and construction of 7.5 kilometers of deep sewage tunnels. It is part of a government project to restore the city's harbor. Work on the project will start next month and will be completed in October 2013.
