Chinese Companies Eye Indian Water, Wastewater Markets

A number of Chinese and other Asian companies are showing interest in the Indian market for water and wastewater treatment, from supply of technology for wastewater treatment to desalination to participation in local water supply projects. Singapore’s Sound Global, which has started to branch out overseas to stay ahead of local competition, is eying the Indian market, but says it may not find the going easy in the country.  The company, which won an EPC contract in 2009 to build a 144,000 cubic meter per day wastewater treatment plant in Saudi Arabia and a water supply project in Bangladesh, is hoping that it can find business in India...
