The Haitian government last week announced its new $2.2 billion USD plan to eliminate cholera from the island of Hispaniola (which includes Haiti and the Dominican Republic). It quickly received support from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), who called on the international community to provide financing for the plan.
