Saudi City Will Suffer Reduced Water Supplies Due to Pipe Leak

The water supply to Makkah will be reduced over the next two days because of a leak in the pipeline from Al-Shoaibah Plant. There would be no supply from the plant until the leak is fixed, said Sultan Al-Otaibi, spokesman of the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) in a statement. The leak appeared after recent repair work, he said. “The corporation set up a number of emergency teams to tackle the issue. Its technical experts are working around the clock to repair the glitch and resume normal supply in the minimum possible time.” Meanwhile, other experts are arranging for water supply from the SWCC’s strategic reserve, Al-Otaibi said...
