Chilean Court Again Suspends Operations at Pascua Lama Mine Until Water Management System Is Completed

Canadian mining giant Barrick Gold announced this week that Chile’s Copiapo Court of Appeals had upheld a previous court order requiring the company to halt operations at its $8.5 billion USD Pascua-Lama gold mine until a water management system is in place that satisfies Chile’s Superintendency of the Environment.
