Six Companies Express Interest in Paraguay’s Chaco Reservoir Construction

ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay

Six Paraguayan companies have expressed interested in constructing a water reservoir in Paraguay’s Chaco Region, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Communication.Some 202 kilometers of pipe are already being laid as part of the project, which is being funded with $20 million USD from the Inter-American Development Bank and $60 million USD from the government of Spain.On July 13, ABC Paraguay reported that the pipe for the second stage of the aqueduct had been delivered to the project site. Six companies are eying the contract for the concrete reservoir component, and the reservoir system could be operating by the first quarter of 2014...
