UN Appeals for $702 Million for Yemen

The United Nations on July 15 launched an appeal for $702 million USD to provide food, clean water, health care and other basic services to Yemenis.Over half the population is in need of some form of humanitarian assistance, the UN said.But “conflict and instability elsewhere in the region and the ongoing political transition in Yemen have overshadowed the humanitarian crisis,” according to UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinato Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
