KATHMANDU, Nepal

Climate change in the Himalayan Mountain region of South Asia is causing glaciers to melt at alarming rates, producing glacial lakes that could easily burst through natural earthen dams and cause extensive flooding, according to the Kathmandu-based International Center for Integrated Mountain Development.
