Representatives of NGO the Latin American Environmental Conflict Observatory (OCLA) have renewed criticism of Toronto-based miner Barrick Gold’s $8.5 billion USD Pascua Lama gold and silver mine. The OCLA has issued a new report that claims the mine would impact Andean glaciers and contaminate local water sources.
