WASHINGTON, DC, United States

The World Bank this week urged African countries and communities in the Sahel region, as well as the international community, to support and expand pastoralism and large-scale irrigation to help the region’s 80 million people better prepare for the effects of climate change and competing demands on food, water and other natural resources.
